Malaysia-China Commemorative Forum
Malaysia-China Commemorative Forum

Malaysia and China commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations on 31st May 2024. During the past 50 years Malaysia-China bilateral partnerships have grown steadily and strongly covering various fields – political and diplomatic relations, economic and trade cooperation, education, culture and tourism and people to people connectivity. China has played a major role in enhancing infrastructure and transport connectivity in Malaysia and the ASEAN region. China is Malaysia's largest trading partner following the signing of China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).

Together both nations will prosper and enhance business, economic and trade cooperation benefiting from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement with growing trade and investments. The digital economy and green growth will be future drivers of bilateral cooperation generating business and investment opportunities for both sides.

To commemorate the 50 years of diplomatic relations and to deeper economic cooperation, the Organizers present the Malaysia-China Commemorative Forum to evaluate what has been achieved so far over the past 50 years and to reflect on achievements and successes and lessons to be learnt. The Forum will also discuss ways to further enhance and strengthen the bilateral partnership and the key drivers of future cooperation.

This forum will bring together Government, business, academic and think tank leaders to exchange views and discuss the future of Asia and how to further deepen our bilateral partnership.
