▪ Dr. Zhang is a Hong Kong Permanent Resident, PRC. He has over 20 years’ history in investment area, and more than 15 years’ experience as senior management in PE/VC funds, domestic and cross-border M&A business.

▪ Dr. Zhang serves as Co-CIO at China Resources Capital Management Ltd, which is the alternative investment and fund management platform of China Resources Group, a Hong Kong based conglomerate ranked 69 in Fortune Global 500.

▪ Since 2016 in China Resources Capital, he has covered several investment sectors, from health care, consumer goods, to energy and infrastructure; and different business types, from late stage Private Equity to early-stage and fast growing stage Venture Capital, with accumulated total asset management of 10 billion USD.

▪ As the Co-CIO, Dr. Zhang leads the investment team, forging the investment strategy and operating policies. At the same time, he sits on boards and Investment Committees of several PE/VC Funds managed by China Resources Capital separately. He is also a member of the Innovation Committee and the Investment Consulting Committee of China Resources Group, where he takes an active role and interacts with fellows in other business sectors within the group.

▪ Dr. Zhang serves Non-executive director of Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA), which was established in 1987. HKVCA provides a forum for networking and experience sharing for its members; promotes industry professional ethics, international best practices and standards; and represents the views of its members before governmental and other relevant bodies. HKVCA represents close to 480 corporate members, include 280 private equity firms across all types – including top 9 of the 10 largest PE firms as well as small VC investors, managing a total of US$2 trillion in assets. These firms are engaged in venture capital and private equity investments in the Asia-Pacific region at all levels – from venture, growth, buyout, secondary, to pension, funds of fund, family offices, etc.

▪ Before joining China Resources Capital, Dr. Zhang was Business Director of M&A in the Strategic Management Department of China Resources Group. He also supervised the real estate and financial sectors of the Group. Meanwhile, he served as the member of Investment Consulting Committee of China Resources Group and Deputy Director of the Investment Consulting Committee Office. Prior to that, Dr. Zhang served as the Assistant General Manager, Managing Director of M&A Department at Haitong Securities, one of the 1st tier investment banks in China. During the work there, Dr. Zhang has led and participated in several deals over 50 billion USD. After that, Dr. Zhang worked as Investment Director of an PE fund focus on retail business investment.
