Wang Dong is Full Professor with Tenure at School of International Studies, Peking University. Prof. Wang also serves as Deputy Head of the Office for Humanities and Social Sciences and Executive Director of the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU), both at Peking University. Wang Dong received his bachelor’s in law from Peking University and Ph.D. in political science from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Wang has written extensively on international relations and China’s foreign policy. His articles appear in leading academic journals and media outlets such as Foreign Affairs and The New York Times. He is the author and/or editor of 6 English-language publications such as Re-globalization: When China Meets the World Again (Routledge, 2020); Avoiding the Thucydides Trap: US-China Relations in Strategic Domains (Routledge, 2020). Dr. Wang was named a “Munich Young Leader” in 2016 (the only awardee from China); and was selected by the inaugural program of “Preeminent Young Scientists” of Beijing in 2018 (topping the tanks as No. 1 in the sub-category of humanities and social sciences), one of the most prestigious awards ever given in China. He was named a Changjiang Young Scholar in 2023, one of the most premier honors in the Chinese academia.
