Tipping Point: "Taking the Show Back to the Theaters in the Time of COVID-19"

Theaters around the world have been hit hard in the absence of a live audience during the pandemic. For the several millions of people worldwide who work in cinema and performing arts, the question of survival has never been as searingly relevant since the world wars in early 20th century as it is today. Although COVID-19 triggered a cloudburst of creative projects and content sharing online by default, after more than six months of social distancing, both audiences and creative industry professionals are convinced going online does not make for an economically-viable alternative to the live experience in the long run. China Daily Asia Leadership Roundtable's Tipping Point series invites creative industry insiders and key players to share their thoughts toward finding sustainable ways of restoring artists' livelihoods in the long and short term.
